Recent events in South-East Asia and a shift to terrorist attacks focused on civilian casualties, continue to pose challenges for Malaysia and the business community. These events will affect the way the government and business view the importance of standardizing security measures not only for critical national infrastructure, but also for locations where civilians and tourists visit and work such as hotels, resorts, high rise office towers, shopping malls and more.

When planning for new developments such as mix-use, office buildings, hotel developments, shopping malls and others, it is essential that security is incorporated at the concept stage to ensure maximum operational effectiveness and resilience. A well-structured and secured building is more desirable for occupiers due to the shift in threat level.
