Incorporated in Malaysia in 1965 under the name of Taiping Textile Limited, the company was listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia in 1972. Following its involvement in Property Development, it changed its name to Arab Malaysian Development Berhad in 1984 and went on further to diversify its activities into Engineering and Infrastructure, Construction, Manufacturing, Travel and Leisure, Healthcare, Advertising and Financial Services. In 2009, the company embarked on a strategic transformation programme to be a focused Property, Engineering and Infrastructure player with concentrated efforts in building up its core businesses. As part of its re-branding exercise and streamlining of its corporate identity, it changed its name to Amcorp Properties Berhad in 2010.

Axis-REIT was listed on Bursa Malaysia on 3 August 2005. Axis-REIT's principal activity is to invest primarily in commercial, office and office/industrial real estate. In December 2008 it was successfully reclassified as a Shariah Compliant REIT. Axis-REIT is managed by Axis-REIT Managers Berhad (the "Manager"). The Manager's primary objective is to ensure the Fund provides a regular and stable income distribution to Unitholders and ensure long-term growth in the NAV of the Fund.
