International School Fair Receives Overwhelming Response From Parents in KL

International schools in Malaysia are a popular option for parents today as evidenced by the overwhelming response to the Private & International School Fair that was held over the last weekend at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur. Parents were seen talking to school representatives to find out more about their offerings in order to find the right school for their children.
The Private & International School Fairs in Malaysia have connected many parents and their children with leading international schools in the country. Organised by Mint Communications, the fairs have taken place in Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Penang, Sarawak, Sabah and Singapore. Since 2012, the fair in Kuala Lumpur has now become a regular biannual feature for parents in the Klang Valley.
The 12th Private & International School Fair in Kuala Lumpur was recently held on 3 & 4 November 2018 at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre, Kuala Lumpur. More than 13,000 visitors attended the fair over the weekend. There were also visitors from China, Korea, Japan, India, South America, Europe and the Middle East among others.
Majority of visitors who attended the fair were local and expatriate parents who are considering international schools for their children at preschool, primary and secondary school, and pre-university level. According to Ms Nickie Yew, co-founder and director of Mint Communications, “We are delighted that the fair has become a go-to event for parents who want to know more about an international school education. We hope parents received the information they needed to ultimately choose the best education option for their child.” The next fair in Kuala Lumpur will be held on 22 and 23 June 2019 at the same venue.
There were over 70 exhibitors at the fair, comprising international schools, preschools, learning centres, special educational needs centres and pre-university providers. There were also booths by sponsors aiming to promote their brand to the visitors at the fair. The internationals schools that participated included Asia Pacific Schools, Epsom College in Malaysia, GEMS International School, HELP International School, King Henry VIII College, Kingsgate International School, Kingsley International School, MAHSA International School, Peninsula International School Australia, Rafflesia International & Private Schools, Sayfol International School, St. Joseph’s Institution International School Malaysia, Taylor’s International School and Westlake International School among others.
The fair also featured the Learning is Fun segment which was designed for children aged 12 and below. A number of entertaining workshops and activities were carried out. Children participated in magic shows, coding workshops, performing arts workshops and musical performances. These workshops also provided children an opportunity to improve their science, mathematics and English skills.
