BMCC Hosts Feedback Session with World Bank
on Investment Policy and Incentives Regime

Last Thursday, representatives from the World Bank met with BMCC members for a discussion and feedback session to obtain views on the effectiveness and efficiency of Malaysian incentives frameworks and areas for potential reforms. This session is part of a larger plan currently undertaken by the Malaysian Government to overhaul existing investment incentives for Malaysia to remain competitive in the region. Representatives from our member companies Dyson, Abdullah Chan & Co, The University of Nottingham Malaysia, Deloitte and Arup Consulting participated, providing industrial insight and their views on existing tax incentives and frameworks, the creation of high-value employment, domestic linkages, new industrial clusters and the recommendations to raise the implementation-effectiveness of current frameworks. Responses collected from our members through a recently conducted BMCC Advocacy Survey on policy issues were also discussed with the World Bank representatives.
