Breakfast Talk Series #2 

Building upon the success of the first Breakfast Talk Series at International SOS on the matter of Wellness, the second installment of the series returns on April the 12th, this time featuring two leading ICT industry leaders in Mr Hew Wee Choong and Dato’ Faris Yahaya. The speakers will touch on the matters of “Digital Economy” and “IoT’s (Internet of Things) Contribution to the Development of Smart Cities” respectively.

Hew Wee Choong is the Vice President, Investment & Industry Development of MDEC (Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation). Wee Choong has more than 18 years of experience in consulting and business development serving multinational corporations within Malaysia and globally. 

Dato’ Faris Yahaya is the Managing Director of Cyberview Sdn Bhd, assuming the role since June 2013. He has more than 20 years of experience in Audit, Banking, Financial Advisory and Consultancy Services.

A Sparkling Start to Flying First with British Airways

British Airways introduces its first-ever English sparkling white wine to its First class menu between February and September. This smooth and full-bodied Vintage Blanc de Blancs comes from the West Sussex-based winery Bolney Wine Estate.

The English sparkling wine will join Laurent-Perrier Grande Siècle and Jacquart Mosaique Rose NV on the Champagne and Sparkling Wine menu. The airline also took home five awards at Business Traveller’ “Cellars in the Sky 2016 Awards”, including the Best Overall Wine Cellar.

Brexit Begins
 
The Prime Minister also struck an optimistic note in the Commons. Too optimistic some might say. Mrs May made it clear that she intended to seek a new free trade deal with the EU to be negotiated alongside discussions on the UK’s exit from the EU and agreed within the two-year Article 50 process. We may hear the EU’s response to that on Friday when Donald Tusk sets out their proposed position in a “guidelines document”. Expect to hear a rejection of the PM’s suggestion and insistence on agreeing the terms of our departure and budget contribution before any such discussions.

In one establishment, I was served by robots (or so it felt like). The other establishment served up a very human customer experience. And, based on my response as a customer, the negative or positive impact will flow directly to the bottom line.
