BiSEA Roadshow & UK Visits

Between April 24th to May 8th, the BMCC was represented in the UK by Executive Director Aurelia Silva who was there as part of the BiSEA (Britain in South East Asia) UK Roadshow delegation. Numerous 1-2-1 sessions were also conducted, garnering an overwhelmingly positive response from UK companies seeking to explore business opportunities in Malaysia.

Along several induction meetings, Aurelia caught up with the Department of International Trade, the UK Asean Business Council (UKABC), MIDA and MATRADE (pictured above), BMCC Accreditors and the British Chambers of Commerces.

The BiSEA Roadshow saw the BMCC make contact with 91 individuals from UK companies comprised of various thriving sectors. Along this trip, Aurelia visited the Suffolk and Bristol Chamber of Commerces, with stops along Manchester, Durham and Newcastle, Nottingham and Kidderminster. Of all the meetings conducted, 53 contact points have displayed potential signs of expanding their businesses to Malaysia.

In what was nothing short of an eventful and productive business trip to the UK, Aurelia also met the Commonwealth Enterprise & Investment Council, the British Malaysian Society, the ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Club as well as Boyd McCleary CMG CVO, the Former British High Commissioner to Malaysia.
