Calling Upon Malaysian Companies to Register to the
UK Mega Technology Mission Malaysia 2017

"The Department for International Trade (DIT) is taking the largest ever delegation of UK technology companies to Malaysia to promote and showcase the broadest UK technology capability to the widest Malaysian audience. The trade mission will be centred around fifty showcase/meeting pods. Each company will be allocated a meeting pod which will be branded for you, free of charge."
Participation will provide a unique opportunity to:
• Meet and network with leading industry players in Malaysia
• Explore business prospects in Malaysia and UK
• Drive forward innovation, R&D, talent partnership and funding opportunity
• Developments and the growth opportunities in Johor
• Two webinars covering key business opportunities in the technology sector in Malaysia will be delivered in the lead up to the mission

A Great British Adventure

The British High Commission is running a social media campaign celebrating 60 years of bilateral relationship between UK and Malaysia. A Great British Adventure is a competition offering one lucky Malaysian winner with an all-expenses paid trip to the UK, visiting London, Manchester and Scotland from 9-17 October 2017. #MYUK60       
3rd Annual EU-ASEAN Business Sentiment Survey
The EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) with the collaboration of EUMCCI have produced a report summarising the recent Business Sentiment Survey, which polled more than 300 executives from European companies around Southeast Asia, aiming to serve as a barometer for outlook of European businesses in Southeast Asia.

A Moment In 'Time'
The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre’s Executive Pastry Chef, Jamaluddin bin Zainal Abidin created a majestic cake creation titled ‘TIME’ for the Yang Di­Pertuan Agong XV Sultan Muhammad V at the annual cake presentation at Istana Negara, held in conjunction with His Majesty’s official birthday celebration on 9 September 2017.

Its taken years – but the UK is finally building a great technology industry
There are many problems with the British economy, but also plenty of success stories. Take the tech industry: a decade ago, we were global also-rans, looking on enviously at America’s astonishing domination of that market. Today, the picture is very different: while the US remains self-evidently the market leader, a new generation of British entrepreneurs has helped build an increasingly promising home-grown tech industry.
UK and China announce deal to work on the 'next generation' of renewable energy tech

U.K. and Chinese researchers will work together on five projects to develop the "next generation" of offshore renewable energy (ORE) technologies. In an announcement on Thursday, the U.K.'s Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) said that the three-year projects would use environmental science, engineering and technology to tackle "key challenges affecting the development of ORE systems, such as offshore wind, wave and tide facilities."
