Understanding The Journey to Decommissioning
 
Rounding up a productive past week, the Chamber's first event for the year was organised last Monday by the BMCC Energy Committee in partnership with MOGSC. The keynote and networking forum on Understanding The Journey To Decommissioning drew 145 attendees across the Oil & Gas sector, turning up to hear from global experts speak on Malaysia's roadmap to cost effective solutions on the arduous and expensive process of decommissioning, The keynote speeches were delivered by H.E. Vicki Treadell CMG, MVO (British High Commissioner to Malaysia) and Muhammad Zamri Jusoh (VP of Malaysia Petroleum Management, PETRONAS) with the latter announcing that decommissioning is and will continue to be a key focus in Malaysia, and that PETRONAS has a 10 year plan in store for upcoming projects. Click for more
 
Petrofac Leadership Training 
 
​The BMCC organised its 2nd edition of the Petrofac Leadership Training Programme last week. Building on 2017's first session with BMCC's very own Chairman Andrew Sill, this 2nd programme featured international speaker and author Dr. Indigo Triplett. Having grown her home-based training practice into a thriving multimillion dollar performance management consulting firm, she has since launched 4D Performance in Malaysia mirroring her US company. Among the many topics touched on were the initiatives leaders, managers & staff should learn to inculcate towards fostering an efficient and balance office ecosystem. This training programme was exclusive only to employees of Petrofac, with over 30 of them taking time off their routine to participate. Click for more
 
BMCC Johor Officially Launched
 
Following the MOU signing between BMCC and the Henley Business School (HBS), University of Reading last year towards establishing "BMCC Johor", last Friday marked the official launching of the centre. Aubai Eliwy (BMCC Head of Business Development) was on site over the weekend to conduct the induction and training process for the 8 students / staffs who will be managing the facility. Their primary objective will be to extend BMCC’s presence outside Kuala Lumpur, doing so by means of driving membership and increasing the proposition of services for our members in Johor Bahru. BMCC Premier Luncheon with Datuk Seri Johari

As we draw closer to Vision 2020 with our sights now set on TN50, Malaysia has been making extensive yet prudent financial changes to the nation's economy, Hear first hand from Datuk Seri Johari, Malaysia's Second Minister of Finance as he looks to cover a wide spectrum of monetary matters, from the Fourth Industrial Revolution, tax compliance, digitisation, e-government approaches and more! 
 
BMCC NEW YEAR DRINK 2018
 
As we wish you a safe and joyous festive season, we eagerly look forward to celebrating the new year with you as we welcome back our members from the holidays. Our customary New Year Drink will this time be held on the 26th of January at the classy W1 bar and restaurant in Bangsar, where a fine selection of beverages and canapés awaits. Oh, and come prepared with a fresh supply of business cards too! You never know who you'll bump into.

Important Message from EUMCCI
 
Last September, EUMCCI, through the Healthcare Committee, sent a feedback letter to the Department of Standards Malaysia to voice out our position regarding the proposed development of a Malaysian Standard on Halal Medical Devices and its requirements. As a result of their collective advocacy effort, the Departments of Standards Malaysia have revised the previously proposed scope to this new version.
